ILFORD, a leading developer and manufacturer of professional quality media for both inkjet printing and colour photographic processes, is pleased to announce the availability of a number of new products benefiting from their latest coating technology.

The company, known for offering photographic quality media, is also one of the world leaders in nanotechnology and complex multi-curtain coating layer solutions. These sophisticated coating capabilities have been applied into new layer technologies for the sign and display market and offer commercial printers the ability to drive incremental business or improve efficiency and productivity through their existing printer hardware.

The new products and technologies were unveiled by the Swiss company at FESPA 2013.

NanoSolvent™- New backlit and banner vinyl products that benefit from the groundbreaking NanoSolvent™ coating layer. These products join the recently launch NanoSolvent™ Premium Photo Papers in utilizing this layer technology for solvent and eco-solvent printers.

AquaBlock™- Offers the sign and display market the ability to drive incremental business through a range of completely water-fast products for outdoor use without the need for lamination.

In addition to showing the full range of OMNIJET media, recent product launches including the new aqueous and solvent canvases and the new Satin Blueback and Semi-Gloss Poster Papers for (eco)solvent printers, were on display at FESPA. However the product that impressed visitors the most was Display Trans Media Kit, a stunning backlit display solution for aqueous printers. The eye-catching advert for Clarins Fragrances could be seen on both the ILFORD and Epson stands and visitors were amazed at the quality comparison to traditional silver halide trans.

“I would like to thank all of the visitors to our stand as well as all the partners that helped make it happen,” said Paul Willems, Chief Executive Officer for ILFORD. “We are delighted with the reaction to our new products and it is clear that we are not alone is believing these could have a significant impact on commercial printers as they enter the market.”
